Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology (NCET), a self-financing engineering college, was started in the year 2001 under the aegis of Nagarjuna Education Society, Bangalore. Nagarjuna Education Society (NES) was established in 1995 under the able guidance of Sri J.V. Rangaraju, a leading industrialist and philanthropist. His commitment to contribute to nation-building is being achieved by imparting quality education at all levels, viz. from primary, graduate, and post-graduate to a doctoral research degree.

Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology is strategically located on the Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway, a road that falls on the Golden quadrangle. Its proximity to the international airport at Bangalore gives it strategic location and commutability. We have lush green campus spread of 72 acres with on-campus residential facility for boys, girls and staff. These hostels have amenities like mess, recreation room and state of art Gymnasium etc. Students are encouraged to actively participate in outdoor games as well.

The college has a spacious library with well stacked books and well subscribed ejournals and books. The college is also a member of the VTU Consortium for e-resources. The college is recognized as Nodal Center for virtual lab facility, sponsored by MHRD, GOI. The institution is associated with IIT B, Mumbai for the project titled eYantra on Robotic Technology for students and staff. ISRO has recognized our college as one of the centers to carry out the student projects under STUDSAT. The institution also has MoUs with different leading industries like EMC2, Oracle, NCC, Data Talk etc.

The college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and AICTE, New Delhi. The College is recognized by Government of Karnataka as a Centre of Innovative Science and Engineering Education. NCET departments have been recognized as research centers from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum to offer a Ph.D. programme.

Dr. Navya Rani M

Associate Professor and Associate Dean R&D

Dr. Navya Rani M. is an accomplished academician, researcher, and innovation leader with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, industry, and entrepreneurship. She is currently serving as Associate Professor and Associate Dean R&D at Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology, Bengaluru, where she is also a member of the Academic Council (2023–2026) and Convener of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club. Her role involves leading research and development activities, mentoring faculty and students in proposal writing, research projects, startups, patents, and fostering industry–academia collaborations. She teaches interdisciplinary subjects including Research Methodology, Bio-Engineering, Environmental Studies, and E-Waste Management, and also trains engineering students in the Japanese language.

Dr. Navya Rani holds a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences (Nanotechnology) from Visvesvaraya Technological University, along with an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a B.Sc. from Bangalore University. Her professional journey includes serving as Managing Director of Re-Batt Energy Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a startup recognized under the Karnataka Startup Policy and winner of the Elevate Amrita Startups 2021 program. She has also worked as Visiting Professor at Dayananda Sagar University, Scientist at Skanda Life Sciences, Assistant Professor at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, and held several prestigious research positions at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and leading universities in Japan including Tohoku, Hosei, and Tsukuba.

Dr. Navya Rani has nearly 20 years of teaching, research, and industrial experience at national and international universities, institutions, and startups in the MSME sector. She has authored or co-authored approximately 40 research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings, 06 Book Chapter and more than 12 patents have been published. Her research interests span nanomaterials, energy storage, green hydrogen, photocatalysis, environmental nanotechnology, and biotechnology. She is also an innovator with more than ten Indian patents published or granted in the areas of energy devices, sensors, nanomaterials, and sustainable technologies. Her contributions have been recognized through several honors, including the STE Women Excellence Award 2024 and multiple best paper and poster awards at national and international conferences. She is proficient in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Japanese, and is actively involved in mentoring, research leadership, and academic excellence.
