Civil Engineering is a prominent branch of engineering that deals with infrastructural development of the country. The Department of Civil Engineering at NCET was established in the year 2004. The department has well-equipped laboratories for teaching, R&D, and industrial consultancy works. It also offers consultancy and testing services in various fields of Civil Engineering.
The department aims to transform students into leaders in technical knowledge by providing an excellent academic environment that helps in grooming them for an innovative and challenging future, contributing to the development of the nation.
NCET has been granted Autonomous status under VTU. The Department is Accredited by NBA and NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade, ensuring the highest standards of education and infrastructure.

Engineering Knowledge – Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and Civil Engineering principles to the solution of complex problems.
Problem Analysis – Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex Civil Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions.
Design/Development of Solutions – Design solutions for complex Civil Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specific needs.
Conduct Investigations of Complex problems – Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments and analysis/interpretation of data.
Modern Tool Usage – Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools like CAD, FEM, and GIS.
